Katherine Legudi was born and bred into Melbourne’s iconic Rag Trade. With over 40 years in the fashion industry—and coming from “good stock,” as they say—Katherine offers clients the assurance that they are in the most capable hands.

She gained her earliest experience in her family’s Melbourne-based business, designing and manufacturing women’s apparel. Since then, she has built a highly respected reputation as a sought-after industry consultant, advising everyone from startups to major garment manufacturers and retailers.

Those who’ve met Kath know her passion for storytelling and her love for the old-school days of the trade—visiting fabric houses on Flinders Lane, drafting patterns by hand, cutting samples late into the night to meet tight timelines (now known as the critical path). She fondly recalls a time when deals were done with trust, honesty, and a handshake—long before emails, mobiles, or the cloud, when landlines and grit kept the industry moving.

Katherine’s career has spanned influential roles across the factory floor, sales, design, product development, production management, and consulting. Her specialist expertise includes quality assurance, compliance, and the full end-to-end manufacturing process.

In the past 15 years, her focus has expanded to ensuring consumer-ready products meet strict retail and regulatory standards—delivering fashion-forward design without compromising on quality, safety, or cost.

With deep industry knowledge, clear communication, and a highly experienced team, Katherine leads RagTrade Solutions in delivering practical, engineered outcomes across all aspects of apparel including womenswear, menswear, kidswear, accessories, and soft goods.
